ya we are really hard to please.... heheee
However, sometimes, its the way that the association boasts about heir FIM that when we see loopholes, we sian... like they tok until so sud lidddat wat FIM sanctioned, wat endorse FIM rules, wat under FIM governed rules, like as tho they know the differences.... and then we see for ourselves how "standardised" they get, and then we sstart to think about the "if you also have no standards, then dont ask us follow those standards as well"mentality....---> also got some truths in it...
Still, i think when it comes to rules that will lead to disqualifications, they should be enforced, else racers who used outside help during the race are still glorified onthe podiums, then not pretty liao. On the other hand, i feel other standards like measuring decibels and racing numbers and their backgrounds and decals on bike should be more "relaxed" as much as possible.......
Just take a look at the coming Sentosa race and you will also see other aspects of organisation and see the dfferences in th turnoutssssss...... but dont gimme the "illegal races" kinda stuff... what is more fundamental is the "support"... where they are so much more well received as compared in regard to thee "standards" they hold.........
LUAAN!

Yah, that's what I mean lor. To get more ppl to come make the races happen, things like decibels and illegal mods should probably be 'overlooked' for now. But such things as outside help during race and cutting course should be penalised. Seriously, if we were to follo the actual rule, S'pore can't make it one lor.
By the way, I always felt that the difference in rider turnout between the two events were primarily due to the $$ involved. We as riders dun really care whether the organiser take us as ' their members' or as general public, all we are interested in is races and if possible, paying less.
With the track out there, I dun see why there wun be as much, if not more, signup for SMSA races IF it cost the same. Sigh.

anyone knows when are the SMSA 03 race schedule coming out?? last heard was that upcoming races could only be finalised after inspection of the track and meeting of officials after the last race.
No offence but instead of debating on these issues, i believe alot of people are eager to know when are the 5/6 races coming out so why not we concentrate on how to make future races happen and better.
Why has riding become so political and not a sport we all enjoy doing?
Thanks!

All I care is just riding also, and hoping there be more bikes on every start lines, or in forest trails.
There's no hidden agenda or corperate conspiracy, all myself wanna do is ride and race (always los tho ) while I stil can.
What I personally can only do is to contribute to the community whatever is within my capability.
Me dun stir no shit. Me only concern is generally over the sport of Dirt Biking in S'pore.
And also, myself also want to know the 03 calendar...

Ooi, you all 3 got nothing better to do in these few holidays izzit?!
Tok abt nothing but the SMSA, got better things to do right?
Everyone also want to ride or race lar, I f**k care forest trail or sand beaches, its the fun and enjoyment, the certainty of races coming up, the ample time of notice given for prep. of bikes, the cost and payment for the race versus the payout, the hip and preparetion of the race itself, the commitment of the organiser (dun crab abt the time off from work, why dun you let the committed be working then!)
It started off with ppl toking abt so many things BUT they got to remeber THIS:- they broke their promises 2 times in 2 years, give crab reasons, waste ppl money on membership fee for 2 years liao, they got to REDEM their status now, NOT brat abt who do this or that!
Till they get their status and trust, and for god sake some organisation back, they are what they are now, a SMSA with car rallies thats all!
Mercury- my angmoh ok anot har? hahaha. I pray to God every night that hoping SMSA dun take away the fun in dirt biking, and he tell me to tell them and those ppl around them to stop bragging, start listening to comments and start working.

Sub committee was formed to bring closer the riders and club, volunteers joined in so that dreams of having a local track could be fulfiled. Committee members wanna ride n race too.
There r pple that came and 'test water only', there r pple that stayed on n contributed both energy and time, some even money to help to run the past few races. Efford may be little to some may think, but had witnessed and known pple that contributed lots... few days off from work.... putting job aside.... affecting the income of their normal life... walking and standing uder hot sun...travelling from east to west n back again.. etc.. N for one simple reason, TO MAKE THINGS HAPPENED!
Every one in the commiittee r working class pple... they pay for membership too, they too wanna everything that we want here. However, what the committee members can do is this much at this speed, It would be of great help if more volunteers could just come out and give them a helping hand... no need to to attend meeting on thursday... just helping out on race day would be very much aprreciated. :cheer:
N there r pple that celebrate CNY from every sectors.... even the government and JTC.
Lets hope that there will be more pple coming in to help the club / committee this year.
:bounce:
Sometimes....silent doesn't means no work...... surprise maybe waiting for u!

Okay, I've actually heard things, but thot would save myself unwanted finger-pointing and just shut up. Then again, since it's making evryone uneasy, even myself, here's what might be the problem.
Heard words about the calendar coming out even before last yr ended. But then hor, seems like the confirmed dates cannot clash with Malaysia races, Local races, Fasting month, exam peroids etc., so it has to be re-planned after the Malaysian dates are confirmed.
And then now there are the Sentosa events, and I dunno what else la. Maybe that's why we wait until neck long still no calendar...
Well, that may or may not be the reason, still I think the ppl up there should at least release the date of the next coming race real soon.
P.S. It's a fact SMSA screwed up 2 solid yrs in a row, but wat I understood was, it's a different grp of ppl handling the races this time
round. So it's kinda in it's 1st step. Think it would be good to give these ppl a chance, ppl like us are just sitting behind PCs while they are standing in the sun lor...
Dun flame me :crying: , just thot we shd all do our individual part, instead of dampening spirits while ppl r trying hard to make it happen.
