finally went to Fulin to collect my bike after 2 weeks..
got the bike out of holeshot by ard 2330 and my cable snapped at ard 0200..
how come suddenly snap ??
alan-exc4 managed to buy this stock yamaha cable ( got this 3xp price tag, so should be stock WR2's right ?? ) from motocross FX for $27 (ex?) and fix it for me.
thanks again alan... I just can't stop thanking u..!
was wondering if need to oil the new cable ??
ppl tell me it's cos my old clutch cable no oil already or too old already. is it true ??
-> so how do i oil the new cable ??
-> lifespan of the new clutch cable ??
-> need to oil it often ??

Just do this simple clutch cable check.
Without engine running, clutch in/out several times and listen for any squeaking sound.
If there is any, your clutch cable is dry inside.
Just loosen and remove the clutch cable at the clutch side and drip in some lubricant.
Make sure the cable is well oiled before fixing it back to the clutch lever.
Do the clutch cable check again.
If you had nicely oiled the clutch cable, there should not be any squeaking sound.
If you have no idea how to remove the clutch cable at the clutch side, ask bike shop mechanic to do it for you during your next bike shop servicing visit.

You can still ride a bike without clutch, only the moving off part is difficult. Get the bike started run with the bike in neutral, jump on the bike, kick to 2nd gear and that's it.... Pray that there's no more red lights. If sway, restart from step 1.
Cable maintence is really the job of the rider. Once you start getting lazy, the cables will start snapping. Also always give the cable some freeplay.
