Whenever I just start my bike there is an absurd amount of smoke coming from my exhaust. I understand that this could be normal because I just start my bike.

But even after riding for 10 minutes or so, when I idle at traffic light, there is still a lot of smoke gushing out from my exhaust. I feel very embarrassed sometimes. Sad like all the cars looking at me.

I used to use the Shell 2T, Advance VSX but my mechanic told me that's not very good, ask me to change. So I changed to the Mobil Racing 2T Fully Synthetic which he recommend me. $18 man! He told me to ride around a bit, it will get lesser, but after riding for 2 weeks there is still a lot of smoke.

I turned down the idling cache already. Usually I have it at max because my bike will die off when I idle too long. But now I turn it 45 degrees lower from my max. I turn down any more my bike will die off very easily when idle.

Is there any way to have lesser smoke? I asked another of my mechanic and he told me only a better 2T can solve the problem. Will de-carb help? Sorry, still learning about my bike.

Decarb and a better 2t will help.

u on premix or pump? im assuming ur on pump.. so tis is wat u do.. tune the pump setting to lessen the 2t intake.. go to a reputable scrammy mech like only the ones strictly mentioned in tis forum.. errr..try not to go that scooter plc or yishun indus... tell em u wana tune down ur 2t intake.. if ur on premix read the forum for premix ratios... heres the bad side; ur engine wont have the glorious 2t it used to have... good side is less smoke.. btw most of us pay almost 25 bux for good 2t.. then again alot of us swear cheap 2t works wonders.. get bell ray or maxima or motul for ur bike dude.. it cost alot, but tats the price to feed ur bike..

I think there is too much carbon in my belly as well. I haven't decarb in a while. But the problem is my belly has quite a lot of small holes already, and when I want to decarb my mechanic will tell me that the belly might spoil as it is very thin.

No, my bike doesn't idle high and low at times. Just normal when idling.

I'm on pump. Hmm. Maybe I will visit my mechanic again.

Visit your mech tell him to check the belly. Check the transmission oil. If the oil color is the same as milk tea, then your oil seal or you coolant gasket needs replacing. If it is not these two, could be your block scratched so your compression is low(can feel when kickstarting) thus idling issues. The oil seal and gasket is one of the reason that your bike is smokey. Too much 2T also causes many many smoke. If i remember correctly, the smell of burning EO(not 2t) smell effing pungent. Color is thick white/brownish... so SMELL IT! BWAHAHA..

okay summary:

1) Check 2T pump setting?

2) Check EO if bubble milk tea color then oil seal or coolant gasket

3) Check Belly and exhaust port area for any leaks(where the belly is connected to the block)

4) Suspect water go into your tank?(causes idling issues/boggy)

5)IF POSSIBLE, go top service about $100++

6)Meet someone riding the same bike let him check it out play around and troubleshoot together. Or simply go Mech

7)Go mech check up.

8 ) smile, don't worry be happy. Happy go lucky. its not the end of the world. Learn new things. Im still learning too. Bored luh. Nothing to do..

Cheers~! Ride Safe!

Hello. Thanks for your quick reply.

I recently changed my water pump because it was spoilt. The mech help me chance coolant and check my everything. Said block is okay. My idling is okay. It doesn't die off often but any lower on my idling cache will make it die easily.

My belly has small holes. Could that also cause a lot of smoke? I am going to my mech to ask him to fill it up.

May I ask as well. How much would an original wr2 belly cost? 1st and 2nd hand. Cause my mEch actually quote me 400 for pc belly. But he say no more he get me original and mod it for me.

If you're on the pump, its likely that 2T is leaking and burning all at one go when you start in the morning. I have experienced this (on a non-motorcycle 2T engine). Solution would be to try figure out where the leak is or have a valve to close the 2T line in the night.

Hmm. I will take note of that and ask my mech later. Thank you. However, the white smoke doEsnt just happen in the morning. It happens all the time when I'm riding. Even idling. At night the smoke is damn obvious when cars behind me shine their headlight.

thanks for your reply bro. glad to know i am being over-charged.

but thankfully he didn't get it. however now he is offering me original wr belly. (not sure what terms you all use for it), but for unknown price yet. he still haven't done it up even after many months. quite angry.

he say he will buy my pc belly over and trade it for this original wr belly. but don't know i need to top up or not, because my pc belly is quite old, rusty and got small holes, and also a small dent after accident. I will be going over to the shop again later to rush him for my it.

Will a brand new belly help in reducing the smoke emission? Anyway I'm an on road rider, if it means anything. I don't think I want PC belly also, later kenna mata must pay $500.

Actually smoke depends on how much u put ur ratio of ur 2t..

Get ur 2t problem settle first the can move on to the belly..Get stock belly to be safe..this to avoid wasting ur money.. Spent ur money on first things first basis..cheers Mr. Green

Maybe its smokey cos u never whack it enough, too much low revs will make the bike smokey, high revs will clear excess 2t... My bike will only smoke if i ride low revs for a certain period of time...

Hi. Yes, my mechanic got mention it to me before last time. What should I do about it? When I'm riding alone on the high way I will often try to rev a lot, go up to 100-110, but when I pillion my gf I can't do that because she's scared.

My mechanic told me to like sometimes ride to some ulu pandan place and just rev like crazy for a few minues clear out all the smoke. Is it true? I scared I over-rev and spoil my engine.
