so i enter an active erp gantry without a iu unit. today i got a letter to go for inspection of the iu unit as it deem to be faulty. now i got o iu unt.i what shld i do ?n

1. Fix the IU on the bike.
2. Go for inspection.
3. If kenna summon, go and appeal.

Thats pretty much it.

p/s: its a $70 summon if you went through without an IU.

I read you have 0 (zero) IU? is that right?

1. You`ll definately have to appeal your summon.
2. If successful then please get an IU in future.
3. If unsuccessful, pay $70 and then go get an IU.

I have no IU on the bike. I dont intend to have one too cos i don't travel to town so often. I can just used a 2nd hand iu for the inspection right?

U can but need to register the 2nd hand iu unit to ur bike..coz maybe the 2nd hand iu unit is register under the previous bike..

so how to do that?

Go any bike shop to.source for 2nd hand iu unit..

Becos you don't have an IU now, if LTA wants to play punk even if you buy a brand new or second hand IU they can check the date registered and know that you didn't have an IU at the time of the offence. So better not appeal and dig up your own can of worms!

I ever kenna before, but luckily I already had my IU so I just fixed it on and went for the inspection. The guy said it could be a faulty cashcard so I didn't have to pay a cent.

Be prepared to fork out $70 for the fine and $150 for the IU.

I don't understand why you need to appeal.

LTA wants you to go for inspection, there is no need to appeal anything YET.
Just go get yourself an IU then go for the inspection first.

Appealing is like admitting your offence even before they found out that you had no IU. Saying that your IU is faulty when you don't have one in the first place could lead you to more problems later on.

Assuming you dont get the IU and come clean on the offence. You`ll get summon right? Appeal on the summon is what im saying.

And yes, saying your IU is faulty is a problem you do not wanna make for youself if you previously dont have an IU
