Hi guys, I just came back from jb to pump. Stopped at traffic light and engine noise went all beserk. Sounds like camshaft or piston? Rattling like noise? Any one in Yishun, would be willing to listen and enlighten me? Damn worried now. Scared jam only otw to school tmr.
If need to overhaul, likely cost would be?
Thanks guys.

Rattling may just b the cam chain tensioner or cam chain itself.

If the piston eats up ur block sleeve, go rebore and fit new piston + rings. No nd for a new block.

Ok, was at my mech and he said it was tensioner and timing chain? Damage is $195. Excluding labour charge. Ok or not the price?

@raskal 440? I was there once. Awesome power Smile but I didn't have a deep enough pocket to maintain and it jammed. Changed back to 400.

@dgray Ahh, will look around. But my mech quote me about $120? Sounds reasonable?

Full set block + piston + ring + gasket u can get ard $600 if order urself.

@raskal no no, not just those 2. 300 includes the 2 items, change of eo and labour fee. oh, cos i failed to check my eo reguarly. didnt know it it would eat my up my eo. so was happily riding back from kallang, then jam at amk ave 3 exit there. so you should check your eo reguarly!

@dgray ahahaha, i thot so too. but now have to regularly check eo ah. any proper way to check? after or before ride?
