well mr blacklabel. hope for the best for you. but sorry to inform you at the same time. you argued with him and made a big scene that attracted a crowd. so you have a damn angry officer. which is one bad thing. and you have public attention which would lead to public enquiries or as mentioned, stomp. helmets no matter how short a distance i feel is still necessary. otherwise if its just 5 seconds might as well just push it there? if you had spoken to the officer nicely maybe he would have been a little easier on you.

firstly, what is the offence you've been chraged with? riding without helmet? if a rider is sitting on the bike without the helmet and engine isnt running, you're deemed to be riding the vehicle. same as you would push your bike anywhere cuz you're controlling the vehicle. same rule applies for drink driving. u drink, sleep in the driver seat. keys not inserted, engine off. Offence? Drink driving. so no helmet - offence yes. penalty should be same as helmet not secured properly/not wearing helmet. call up TP if you need answers.
secondly, is your bike a laid up one? cuz it seems like one. no rear licence plate, illegal headlights, etc. if it is then say goodbye to your licence and prepare to spend some time in prison when the prosecutor goes hard on you. im doing the yellow ribbon prison run. maybe i can get the guys there to give you a better yard to work out in but cell wise will be all the same unless you have a medical condition. just dont drop the soap. if its all the illegal mods that's on a roadworthy bike, prepare for an inspection soon. no fine unless you go for inspection with all the nonsense still on your bike.
thirdly, prior "records or incidents" are worthless unless you've been charged in court before for the same offence. then you're labelled "repeat offender" so expect more this time round if found guilty. all the arguement with the officer will hold no weight at all cuz no offence disclosed, ie, obstructing civil servant from course of duty. so nothing here you should bother about. what you should bother about is yourself and your attitude. there is no cure for stupidity.
just my 2cents worth...

I think u are lucky he gave you your licence back and I think the TP is quite reasonable and also very accomadating by doing that. I don't think he will charge you on all your offence, although you baheved like a bigot by arguing with him, when afterall he was doing his job....you might say differently if he let;s go a traffic offender in front of you...but here you are complaining because he caught you.
Well, I salute the TP. Good job mate.

Bollocks.
The TP's job is to stop idiots texting while driving, speeding, changing lanes without looking or indicating...general stuff we see here ten thousand times a day on my commute to and from work that often results in me having to take evasive action on my bike, and I hardly ever see a cop busting one of these idiots, but this guy rides a bike a few meters without a helmet and he could be looking at jail time?!? Yeah...well done the tp for looking out for this guys safety...what a load of crap! The Tp can use common sense and if this guys bike is really a death trap and totally illeagal then fine him, but the helmet thing is daft.

i don't agree with your point.
If the TP were to witness idoits "texting while driving, speeding, changing lanes without looking or indicating.....", I am sure they would be stopped and probably given a summon.
Here come a guy without helmet and riding a bike which hardly comply to the LTA regulations in full view of the TP, can the TP turn a blind eye ?
Whether he was riding for 5 secs or 5 hours is irrelevant because the law is quite clear that a helmet must be worn at all times when in control of a motorbike.
