on the xr400R,

can anyone tell me part no.10 >> 18392-MK4-000. The gasket is placed outside (exterior of the link where the header pipe and endcan) or is it placed on the pipe header and then slipped into the endcan ?

sorry for the noob question. bought my bike without the gasket.
