|
Okay slackers, need some guidance.
My exhaust is really loud, and i'd like to quiet-en it down a little.
I removed the chrome tip last night and found that its been cut.
I bought a used diffuser, i'm having trouble fitting it in.
I think the circular shape is a little off, so it won't slide in nicely.
I dont see a lot of XR4s with their diffuser on, but they don't sound
ridiculously loud. So i'm guessing its got something to do with the chrome
insert? Cuz like i said, mine looks like its cut, nice and free flowing.
I don't know which would be the stock insert, 4 or 5.
The red line is where mine looks like its cut.
Possible to buy this from places like FJT? Any idea what the damage is?

80 bucks ar there. Plus i used to use a dut off rxz silencer aka diffuser trimmed to that length. Not much sound though. Shouldnt be a problem if its roughly the same length.
but if ur referring to the whole tip. the chrome tip behind kena cut. best ask fjt sales person for info, or ur local xr4 specialise mech, cheers.

the header is stock, i believe. =)
I'm gonna try fitting the diffuser in and see how it sounds.
is it going to run different with a diffuser in?
would i need to readjust the carb?
or even re jet it?

does the diffuser slide into the tip nicely?
easy to bolt in? cuz mine need to hammer in.
even then, it wont go in far enough to put the bolts in.
and then taking it back out is a bigger pain.
