First check the exterior for any damages from any Trail-crash or defective component.
1. Bent brake or clutch levers
2. Handle grips torn at the edge.
3. Check the footpegs if its dented or damaged
4. Check for cracks or oil leakage visual at engine area.
5. Check the pipe belly if its dented or leaking.
6. Check the End Muffler for goo/oil sludge residue...worn packing
7. Check yr Forks n Shocks for any oil leaks or scratches
8. Importantly check the brakes if it works.
9. Check the Brake Disks for damaged, thinning or bent.
10. Check the bikes front wheel and Hanble bar alignment.
11. Check yr Speedos are working, must get one for Inspection.
12. Check all lights n horn if its working, must get one for Inspection.
13. Check the tires condition if its worn, replace it if necessary.
14. Find out or buy the necessary tools for KTM eg.Plug opener

There are lots more but these are sufficient enough for visual inspection.I bet there's no way you'll get it all check-out in working order.
Better off buying new...if your expectation are high.
