Something to share
so I just got some works done. All is good. Until I saw my neutral lights dimming and then the starter buzzing not starting. Opened up seat again. Appears that a yellow wore was cut and joined along another yellow wire. Like a bit randomly. Don't know why. Anyway I redid the connections and all was well again. Battery on trickle charger for a while. Electrics back to normal again. I would have thought these are basic stuff.
don't count on it guys. It's always good to check your bike nuts an bolts and wires yourself coz you have no idea what they do. I ever found my front axle locking screws loose. Like finger tight only kinda loose at another shop. Be safe guys.
Happy cny.

Hey I ride an XR200 and I have a question;
When I was going for my riding classes at BBDC and riding a Honda CB125, I noticed the e-start can work even if the gear is not in neutral, as long as the clutch is pressed. But its not like that on my xr200. So should this also be there on the XR200?

No it should work exactly like a cb125 , but due to mods by the previous owners ,they sometimes cut the wire when they replace with an aftermarket clutch lever + perch when they break the lever ,
they do not come with the sensor ,to restore it you must buy back a original perch + lever, other way is to short the connecter ,it will by pass the safety switch ,best to leave it alone if you do not know what you are doing , or you may risk frying the cdi .

I see.
I might not start cutting and chopping everything, but if i were to see what looks like 2 ends of the same wire it might be a case of a cut/disconnected wire. They are stock levers as far as I know, but might have been disconnected when the bike was being painted.
At least now I figured out that I should be focussing at the clutch lever side and not the clutch or gearbox..
Thanks Deriyu!

look under your clutch lever mine has two flat metal connectors that should be paired up with 2 wires that connect by means of a plastic sheath. black and red if i'm not wrong.

ah. beat me to it. decoysp is right, under your clutch perch is the nebtral switch. this has to be connected to 2 wires for you to clutch in and start in any gear.

Yep thanks. I found the 2 pins where the wire SHOULD be connecting, but I dont see a dangling unconnected wire. It might be somewhere under the speedo. I guess i'll take the headlight cover off saturday and see if I can find it.
To make things easier, can someone tell me where the other end of that wire should be connected to? the meter cluster, the ignition or start button? Thanks!

So I took off the headlight cover to put sticker it up, and looked out for a loose wire inside it... sadly, didnt find any... Can someone tell me where does the 'clutch-neutral' wire connect to?
