Please don't waste your money to convert Xr125/200
And it makes no sense too,
Lets say you find bike
USED 2002 plate xr200 ,$1800
Renew COE ,$1200
change motard rim & tyre $900
minor repairs and bling ,bling parts $600
Total $4500 and this is rough est only ,
when done the bike is slower than a old phantom200 and you cannot go offroad ,Sian than Sell in forum for $4500 who buy also ?

what is the proper way to check for the engine oil? let the bike rest on side stand and check or straighten it up right and then check?
Cos I was checking it out this morning and when it rest on side stand, there is no oil on dipstick, when i let it standing up right and check, there is oil to the max of the dipstick.
so which is the correct way?

let it standing upright. and don't check immediately after riding the bike. let the bike cool down before checking.

just camp in the forums. and look back on some of the old posts in the "bike for sale" section.
XR2s are good first bikes cuz they're easy on petrol consumption and not too violent with the power. be patient. don't just buy the first bike that comes on sale. and have fun with us once you get yours.

Oh don't worry, there'll be ads. You just have to check the sales section everyday.
There will be periods when there are none, and days when 4 or 5 will be posted. It's strange that way.

haha bikes on sale is the same as fruits in season.
when a fruit is in season, you can pick and choose the juiciest ones.
but when off season, you gian also cannot find.
try looking thru the singapore bikes forum as well. sometimes ppl post there but don't post in slackriders. keep trying and be patient.

Just beware of wrecks when buying Brazil Xr2 ,may cost you at least $2000 just to restore it back to running conditions.
Typical costly items
Look out for major items before buying
* Engine rebuild
(there are so many "budget rebuilts" i have seen these few years and none lasted more than 6months before leaking everywhere .
May cost $1000 or more
* Messy or corroded main wire harness
(expensive and may not be in stock )
* Customized bodywork
( Xr2 original shrouds is very hard to find and some modify it to a point of no return ,cut subframe and number plate holder .they will fall off during long distance offroad rides )
* Worn out rear shock
(new crappy original replacement cost $800 and no aftermarket available ,also no cheap rebuilt in Singapore)
* unresponsive rear brake
( Almost 90% got this ,even mine have to service every 2 months by ah guang to keep it working properly ,only original brake pad works ,Seen many Mech that cut grooves and do this do that ,end up waste money and don't work )
* Rusty Fuel Tank
(10year bike getting old and sure will rust, new ones cost $400 or more ,and have to pre-order ,not in production and no stock size replacement)
* Battery E-start only
(it is the love and hate of this bike ,ppl kick until leg cramp ,you just Eeeeee.... and ride off ,no kick start means pushing the bike if battery spoilt or flat,IU unit will drain a full charge batt in 10 days )
* No other cheap rear sprocket sizes
(only size 43 and 45 now , mine customised by ah guang size 48 for hill climbing and torque .Those tried size 48 swear by it)
* XR4 exhaust pipe
(Some weld it to the mid pipes ,and some modify the mid pipes so that end can looks higher on the bike ,not issues when just done ,only big problems when engine repairs needed )
These are the common issues to look out for when viewing Xr2 ,
Minor repairs are inevitable but any one stated above will cost you a hole in pocket .
It you find a properly done one it will last you forever if you take care of it .
