Hey guys anybody using KTM as a transport bike although i have read about the $$ consuming power of the KTM if you use it as a transport bike....
My office is less than 5km to and fro from my home.... And i would perhaps go trailling on weekends...
Is this usage of KTMs very chiong on the pockets?

It's not a problem. I've done it - 20km to and fro a day 5 days a week for 1 year. There will be wear and tear of course, just do regular maintaince and servicing. The only thing is pump more petrol and use more 2T than other bikes.

There's another forumer Bigace who used his ktm for both transport and track/trail as well. It's not impossible.

erm, really depends on what you consider to be siong. What is siong to me might be ok for you and vice versa. I've had parts breakdown during the 1 year, but they were from wear and tear which is going happen if you ride it daily. That's not to say that if you ride any other bike you won't have to repair anything. As a rough gauge let's say I've not paid more than $500 for a one time service/repair. And I've had relatively major repairs (requiring the opening of the engine) done twice only. This is considering that the parts that broke were the original parts from 1997.

If you have to worry about whether your pocket is deep enough doing that, then I think save the trouble, don't do it.

i ride a KTM 6 days a week from yishun to clementi from there to katong, and then from katong to yishun, totalling about 80plus km per day...fuel consumption is no doubt high, got 2T sum more if its a 2 stroke, maintainence so far engine oil, the usual stuff....i suppose 5km a day and trailing on wkends is ok Smile just make sure u take care of it...if not......

I had ride ktm for daily transport b4...premix sumor...from yishun to town.
Full tank to reserve I click 100km oni.approx bout 5 trip. Surprised wah koyak man!

ktm is a performance bike ,,so when you ride like rxz at times on the road cause to avoid unnecessary attention from uncle bluebird.the valve tends to be serviced at a shorter period. And all sort of stuff like sista jade elaborate ..ted ded ted ded...mortal kombat..FINISH HIS ONE.
After got myself a primary transport bike and my ktm on weekends only.
And I fully utilise the power of the darkside...then I service at a longer period approx 4 to 5 times after a women finish her period Wink .

I may be wrong cause I used my ktm less after I got the transport bike  .
but my ktm performance is well mentain cause I didnt ride it like rxz at weekends B) .

Ehmm ehmm ...there's a guy sellin his wave at a reasonable price you might want to consider. Wink

Got a small problem cause i am 1.85 meters tall and i think the RXZ will look funny le.......... Reason thinking of getting a KTM is due to the offroad capbilities as sometimes i ride offroad on my bicycle........
Besides at this moment i only thinking of setting aside 2k for the bike and paying in installments cause i still got my car to feed......
