It's your bike, even if you dun want to use 2t, also can. You can do anything with your bike. Laughing

Haha.. just play around la.. dude, if still got problem, go for jetting. Make it more lean. I think you can try minimum until got small bit of white smoke come out from exhaust. If no white smoke, maybe not enough 2T.. correct me if I'm wrong..

It is important to have the correct ratio of petrol and 2t. Facts that all rider need to know. Incorrect ratio, whether it is too rich or too lean, can cause a piston jam. 2t is needed to lubricate the piston where else is petrol also act as a cooling agent for the piston. One of the reason why petrol is cold. I dunno about other ratio but too me 50:1 is my safest bet. Very Happy So if you want to try to reduce the amount of 2t based by visually see the amount of white smoke produced, it is your own call. Whatever make you sleep better at night, boys. Laughing

Yep. Too little or too much also no good. I usually use 20-30 ml per litre, trying my best to follow the factory recommendation of 50:1. One of my friends who used to do mx on ktm said that the lowest he went was 15ml per litre for trail riding. For track, he used 25-30ml.

With all these headache, thumpers are a better choice for beginners. However, I do like the power and sound of a 2 strokers, but you really got to read up on your stuff. I'm still learning man..

I believe, for mx, they prefer to make their bike a bit lean as it gives better power. The spark from sparkplug will be produced more as less 2t will be present. But the downside, you have to do piston maintenance regularly compared to normal riding...

My advise, dun get 2nd hand carb. Cos most of them who sell their carb becos it got problem. Most people dun change their carb if it works just fine. Get a new one if possible. Then you dun have to think about any carb problem for at least 3 years... Wink

I beg to differ... its not the carb but the settings and jettings that needs to be changed.

Hahahhaa, I beg to differ again. My instinct tells me the it is the carb is having a problem. I am confident that the bike will still have the wet sparkplug problem after changing it's setting. Cos I am sure, the previous owner, couldn't have been using a wrong setting all along, especially a too-rich setting. Well, I could be wrong but I am pretty sure of it becos I have been into similar situation before.

Rae, if you want, you can change the setting first. And like I told you, a quick solution is to use an iridium or any thin tip sparkplug (if not mistaken, holeshot is selling at $9/-) but you're not totally solving the problem. Good luck. Smile Smile Smile

Keep the 2t to 25ml and get Aremean to do the jetting on the Main jet and pilot jet, and the reason that you always fouled the plug is when you just pour the 2t straight up into the tank full of petrol, thus the 2t tends to sit at the bottom. You're supposed to mix the 2t and petrol in a separate container and give it a good mix before before pouring into the main bike tank!...Did you just pass your 2b recently??..Besi bin sawit!

Best check your Plug regularly...see pic below.
I bet there's lots of 2T present in yr tank by now if u use 20or25ml/Litre.

Arrow Chk for normal condition...
Arrow Adjust yr 2T amount till u get the desired condition.
Arrow No need to change carbs or jetting....la Mr. Green
