A 40mm carb in a KTM200,? Dats something new, so is it rebored, and does it require a new airbox boot(manifold)?

Oh, and does your rpm drop slowly after riding the bike hard (constant half and full throttle operations)? Becos no.38 pilot jet sounds like quite small (even tho air screw at 1 +half turn out).

Also, wats the colour of your plug after full throttle riding?
168 main jet sounds small (with needle at 2nd clip), but considering it's stock exhaust system, maybe it'll work.

Were the 13/50 gearing new, or you were using other combination before dis?

Sorry I dun mean to ask so much. But nowadays KTM parts are very exp, so it'll be bad if the cyclinder gets scored. As a bike usually feels very crisp n powerful when it's lean.

Well, it may be the reed cage, or you may be one lucky guy with a low consumption yet powerful bike.. Smile So I'm not saying the setting's not right, just thot it might be good to be sure. B)

Not only carb size is new, the spocket ratio is also very new to me...

I din know that the exc models are able to fit the 13 teeth front spocket...usually only the SX models have the 13 teeth front...the normal excs used 14 for their front...

hmmm... 13 50...converted 14 53...if your bike cant pull the front end up at every gear...I would think its probably time to do a overhual....

Not saying its impossible to fit a 13 t for the front...but.... 14 teeth would be much more advisable...

cheers

Please remember that this setting only for offroad not onroad, it's mean i don't open full throtlle for long time. Only need torque not speed and the other side we premix with good 2T oil (Maxima Castor 927 or Blendzall gold), castor oil have cooling formula.

PWK40 have bigger ventury than PWK39/38, thats way i use small pilot and main jet, if u still with stock jetting thats will be rich mixture. Don't feel u can got low fuel consumption with this setting need more high fuel consumption. I need 3 litres fuel for 6 laps on FIM track ( 1laps = 1,3km).

No need modification on manifold, cus have same size in out diameter, only different inner diameter.

Hi downey, maybe it appeared like I'm doubting yr set up. PLs dun feel dat way, as I'm here to learn new things too. Smile

As I may be outdated about the existence of a 40mm PWK, thus the question. And if it's not out of the box but measured 40mm, it cld be a rebored carb. Reboring doesn't change the internal flows (pilot circuit, airscrew etc.) of a stock carb, which directly affect overall jetting. It jus increase the air flow between airbox and engine. Meaning if the pilot jet's too small, it'll still affect the descending of rpm when the engine's hot, even if full throttle is not kept constantly. But if everything seems fine, guess you've got it sorted out. B)
Or probly U're running a aftermarket racing PWK?

Which FIM track did you play at? B) Dun think there's any locally, so is the altitude and humidity there similar to Spore? Mann, you lucky fella. Smile
